Drainfield Installation
Drainfield and Leach Field Installation in Ocala
The drainfield is where treated effluent leaves the tank and disperses into the soil, and it is the part of the system that fails first when it is undersized or overloaded. Backyardbarter builds gravel-trench and plastic-chamber drainfields for Ocala properties, each one sized from the percolation rate so the sand does the filtering it is meant to do.
Why Drainfields Fail Here
Two things sink a field in Marion County: a shallow seasonal water table and a distribution box that stopped splitting flow evenly. When the summer rains raise the table, a field set too low loses its separation to groundwater and effluent surfaces in the yard. A settled D-box overloads one lateral and starves the rest until the trench clogs. We check both before we ever recommend a full rebuild.
Our Process
We run a fresh perc test, confirm the seasonal high water table, and size the new field to those numbers. Then we lay perforated schedule 40 PVC in washed drainfield stone, wrap it in non-woven geotextile fabric, and reset or replace the distribution box so every lateral gets an even share. On lots off SE Maricamp Road where the table sits high, we will step you up to a chamber or elevated design rather than reburying the same problem.
